1951 Chevy Sedan Delivery
A sedan delivery is a 2 door station wagon with driver and front passenger seats or driver's only seat, and steel sheet-metal panels in place of rear side windows. Sedan deliveries have spartan interior trim and were used by businesses ranging from plumbers, couriers and local merchants such as bakeries as cargo vans are used today. The 1949-1952 Chevrolet sedan deliveries were attractive and dependable work vehicles.
This Chevrolet Sedan Delivery is unique in that it is a true barn find and it has been restored with creature comforts and period correct performance updates. Finished in an off-white, it is contrasted with a two-tone tan interior. The paint and finish are very nice on this and the chrome trim adds to the beauty. It has body side moldings, rocker panel moldings and upper belt moldings not usually found on sedan delivery models. It also features front and rear bumper guards, fender skirts, full wheel covers and wide whitewall tires.
The interior has been upgraded to a modern day split bench seat with center arm rest, matching door panels, headliner and full floor carpeting. The dash is finished in body color with original gauges, radio and heater.
It is powered by the 216 cu in inline six cylinder engine, equipped with an aftermarket twin carburetor intake manifold and a split exhaust header for dual exhausts. The engine is backed with a column mounted 3 speed manual transmission.
